Tamil language and cultural classes for children. Term 2 runs every Sunday from 3 May to 28 June 2026, 9:00 AM–11:00 AM.

Join SISMA's Tamil Class program — a welcoming space where children discover the beauty of the Tamil language, script, and cultural heritage every Sunday morning.

About the Program

Our Tamil classes are designed for children aged 5–15, taught by experienced and dedicated instructors who make learning fun, interactive, and culturally meaningful. Whether your child is a complete beginner or continuing from a previous term, they will grow in confidence and connection to their roots.

What Children Will Learn

  • Tamil alphabet (உயிர், மெய், உயிர்மெய்) — reading and writing
  • Spoken Tamil conversation and vocabulary
  • Simple reading passages and comprehension
  • Tamil cultural stories, songs, and traditions
  • Basic grammar and sentence construction

Who Can Join?

The program is open to all children in the SISMA community and their friends. No prior knowledge of Tamil is required for beginners. Children are grouped by ability level to ensure age-appropriate and effective learning.

Fees

A nominal term fee applies to cover materials and resources. Please contact us for current fee details or to arrange a fee waiver if needed — we don't want cost to be a barrier.

What to Bring

  • Notebook and pens/pencils
  • Any workbooks from the previous term (if continuing)
  • A water bottle and small snack
